  • Received BS in Accounting at Eastern Kentucky University
  • Four decades as a Small Business Owner in a variety of industries with hands-on experience on all aspects of starting, managing and growing a small business.
  • Real Estate experience and knowledge by ownership in farms, residential and commercial properties.
  • Small Business Experience by owning and managing several businesses including a restaurant, farm, wholesale plumbing and electrical supplies, and dry cleaners.

EXPERIENCED

For over four decades, Lowell has been involved in several startups, small businesses, agricultural ventures, farm management, hospitality, entertainment and community involvement. Lowell understands the financial needs and tax requirements of running small business.
  • Extensive Experience in the farming and hospitality industries as Lowell and his wife founded the first “Small Farm Winery” in Madison County, KY.
  • Winery Operations included vineyard management, wine production, restaurant and gift show management, wine tastings, retail sales, wholesale & distribution, tourism, wedding and event venue services, community involvement and entertainment services.
  • Lowell’s winery was recognized as “The Best Startup Small Business in Southeastern Kentucky” in 2007
  • Lowell was appointed by the governor to serve on The Kentucky Grape & Wine Council
  • Lowell also served as the President of the oldest Vineyard Society of the U.S.

SAFE & EASY TO USE

We offer our Bookkeeping, Accounting, Financial Consulting and Tax Services either online or in our office. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, our in office meetings are by appointment only so we can control the number of people and ensure safe social distance.  And we have modified the way we collect data, prepare your returns and file your tax forms during this time with online services:
  • We use safe and secure file sharing software to ensure your privacy and financial security.
  • Our tax returns are filed and can also be signed electronically with an option to pay for your services out of your refunds.
  • We use Zoom online meeting services for those who feel more inclined to meet with us in the comfort and safety of their own homes.
  • I am not a financial planner; I am a tax planner.

Born and raised in Richmond, Lowell has been apart of this community his entire life. As a proud graduate of Madison Central High School and then Eastern Kentucky University, Lowell has a great love for this city, area, and its people. Lowell received a BS degree in Accounting at Eastern Kentucky University in Richmond KY.

As a CPA, Lowell continues to serve the Richmond community with the idea that those he works with are not just clients, but friends. Lowell brings much experience, trust, and commitment to the CPA field, and he would love to work with you.

Katherine eared her B.S. in Accounting at the Eastern Kentucky University in Richmond KY. She has wide experience in all aspects of business management and both public and industrial accounting including manufacturing, restaurant, winery, retail business, event venue, farming, real estate, non-profits and various small businesses.

Her extensive experience in a variety of industries as well as business ownership, this gives her a wide range of knowledge and perspective when serving our clients at Lowell D. Land Accounting.
